Q: I sent my resume for a position last Monday…this is Thursday and I haven’t received a response, what should I do?
A: Don’t Panic! It usually takes at least two weeks before a Human Resources associate starts to narrow down perspective candidates. The first week resumes accumulate. Generally , by the second week appointments begin to be scheduled. It’s not unheard of for initial interviews to take place up to three weeks from the date the resume was sent and depending on the time of year, HR staff could be on vacation However, if it’s midway through the second week, there is nothing wrong with calling the company to find out the status of your resume.
