Caledon Community Services brings “STAGE”
to Caledon!
STAGE
- Student Theatre for Awareness,
Guidance and Education, is an exciting new youth program offered through a
partnership between Caledon Community Services and Caledon Youth Services.
STAGE
is made possible through funding from The Ministry of the Attorney
General, Ontario Victim Services Secretariat.
STAGE
will have its own website
www.stageproject.ca. HOWEVER, we have held off construction to
allow participation from second generation stage members interested in
designing the site.
STAGE will also be offering opportunities
to work on a documentary film project and many creative outlets like poetry,
songs, short films, music videos, etc.
The first master script of the
STAGE
project has now been completed.
Synopsis: Set in a high school cafeteria, 12
youth struggle through adolescence and are forced to deal with the obstacles
life throws at them. As one of their guidance councillor’s explains,
“They’re getting their hearts broken and they don’t even know what to do
about it. They’re trying to build themselves up when everybody else wants
them to break down.”
Auditions for the 12 roles (6 male, 6 female) will be
held during the week of September 10th at high schools and community
theatres within the region. The play will be triple cast to enable the
maximum opportunity for youth.
Those interested in participating in
STAGE
may contact Artistic Director, Mary Horzempa:
